Join us for an immersive journey into the art of hand-weaving at Whitewoven Textile Art Studio, where creativity knows no bounds. Our classes offer a unique opportunity for both beginners and seasoned weavers to explore the magic of weaving and other textile arts.

Rolling Registration: Students may join at any time, pending availability. To reserve a spot or get help with scheduling, call Sheree at 828-400-3036. Class dates will be arranged by phone after payment is received. Most schedules can be accommodated.

Note: Private classes may occur, but are not guaranteed. You may receive a private session if no other students are scheduled for that time slot. If multiple students are studying the same material, they may be placed in the same class.

What to Expect: Dive into the world of weaving as you embark on a 2 or 4-harness project of your choice. Unsure of a project? No worries! Our expert instructors will guide you with personalized assignments tailored to your skill level. Each class session combines instructional discussions, interactive "Show & Tell" moments, and dedicated work time, ensuring individual attention and growth.

  • Registration Details

    Secure your spot with a $175 registration fee. Your fee includes:

    • Four classes

    • Use of looms and peripheral equipment

    • Access to the yarn closet

    Spaces are limited and only a paid registration reserves your spot. Miss a class? No worries — make-up days are available.

    Yarn Closet — What’s Included

    • Access during class: Our shared yarn closet is available to you for the duration of the class, so you won’t need to wait for mail-order yarn or make extra purchases specifically for class sessions.

    • For in-class use: Yarns provided from the closet are intended for use during class to support experimentation and creativity without encouraging students to build personal stashes.

    • Bringing your own yarn: You are welcome to use your own yarn for all or part of your projects.

    • No special purchases: Whitewoven Studio will not purchase yarn on behalf of students for individual projects.

  • Experience Level: Beginner to advanced weavers are welcome.

  • Table or floor Loom provided: Our designated studio looms are available for your use. We have Leclerc and Mountain Looms in 4 or 8 harness set-ups. We also have bobbin winders and bobbins, umbrella swifts, shuttles and various count reeds for every project need.

  • Supplies to Bring: Prepare for weaving success with essential supplies including scissors, tape measure, pen/pencil, notepad, graph paper, folder (optional), colored pencils (optional), ruler, straight pins, masking tape, yarn needle, calculator. Please bring a container for your personal tools.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Class times are 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A brown-bag lunch or snack is recommended, but you may also take a 30 minute break if you wish.

  • Make-up class: Saturdays as arranged.
