Each mat is handmade in our studio in Waynesville NC. The design layer is a fabric collage and the base is canvas. The fabrics are then protected by up to 5 layers of floor finishes applied to the front and back of each mat. As the finish layers build up we use a domestic type iron to heat and smooth the finish. Before the last layer of finish, we use sand paper to smooth the surface. The result is a wipe-off surface that is stain resistant. Our mats are all guaranteed for performance.
